Step 2: Find upcoming elections

Elections happen even when a president isn't on the ballot — in fact, they are far more frequent than you might think. That's why it is so critical to stay informed and ensure that you are registered for any and all elections.

California Assembly District Delegate Elections

Register to vote in person by Jan. 22 

Elections to choose the next delegates to the California Democratic Party Democratic State Central Committee

Presidential, House, and Senate
Primary Elections

Election day: Mar. 4

Register by: Feb. 20

Elections to choose the Democrat and Republican nominees for local, state, and national November races.

Step 3: VOTE

Vote by mail

Vote in-person

Every registered voter receives a ballot in their mail prior to election day.

Fill our your ballot, place it in the provided envelope, and sign the back of the envelope.

Put your ballot in the mail, or drop it off at a drop box or vote center.

Find the voting center nearest to you on the County elections website.

Determine when the vote center is open. You can often vote in the week leading up to Election day.

At the vote center, follow directions of the vote center representative.
